Welcome to my ePortfolio.
I hold an honors degree in gerontology and sociology from McMaster University, along with a diploma in occupational therapy and physiotherapy assistant from Mohawk College. These experiences provided me with a comprehensive understanding of the multifaceted aspects of an individual’s health over the course of their life.
My career journey has included valuable experiences in acute care settings. As an assistant, I gained firsthand exposure to various aspects of patient care and the determination patients have to overcome their physical challenges. As a mature student, I pursued a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from McMaster University and subsequently worked as a social worker in a number of acute care hospitals.
Currently, I am serving as a patient care manager, where I oversee social work, discharge planning, and patient flow. These roles have provided me with a deep appreciation for the interconnectedness of different components of patient care within a hospital setting.
My portfolio showcases my educational background, professional affiliations, and ongoing coursework in the Master of Health Studies program at Athabasca University. This combination of experiences and education has equipped me with a strong foundation in healthcare and a commitment to improving patient outcomes.
